Later, I woke to find Andy’s bed empty and the window open. In a panic, Kelly and I searched until our neighbor called to say she’d seen Andy near the woods, with Daisy by his side. Relieved but angry, I pulled him into my arms. At home, I confronted Kelly. She confessed that she had let Daisy out, hoping Andy would forget about her. I was devastated. But through it all, Andy’s love for Daisy showed us that family isn’t about perfection—it’s about embracing the messy, the unexpected, and forgiving each other.
