Brett Gardner’s son died from asphyxiation, claims preliminary investigation

The 14-year-old son of former Yankees star Brett Gardner, Miller Gardner, tragically passed away on March 21, 2025, while on vacation in Costa Rica. Initially, the family stated he had fallen ill along with other family members but died peacefully in his sleep.

However, a new report claims Miller died from asphyxiation, possibly due to food intoxication. Local authorities are awaiting autopsy and toxicology results to confirm the cause of death.

Brett Gardner, who retired from MLB in 2021, had been spending more time with his family. The Yankees expressed their support, offering condolences to the grieving family, remembering Miller’s vibrant personality.
